I’ve drafted a simple, one-page decision card for bilge handling that walks watchkeepers through OWS use, 15 ppm limits, no-discharge zones, and when to route to the slop tank. It’s set up for A5 lamination with a space to note the last OCM/15 ppm alarm test and ORB entry reference; if you want the editable file or region-specific tweaks (e.g., Great Lakes, special areas), say the word.
We laminated a similar card and added a tiny first step — “bypass valve sealed; seal # ____” — plus a line for overboard valve tag; it’s like a preflight check and it saved us during a tight PSC. If you’re covering Great Lakes, I’d spell out zero discharge even under “15 ppm”; this USCG job aid is handy: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/OCSNCOE/OWS_Job_Aid.pdf — worth adding a QR box, @OP?
I added ‘UTC + lat/long at start/end’ on ours so the ORB, OCM printout, and GPS line up during inspections; if your OCM logs in ship’s time, note that to avoid a mismatch.
