Handhelds that survive the yard and rain

We’re evaluating rugged handhelds for live tally and reefer rounds on night shift, and I need devices that sync cleanly with N4 and don’t die in salt spray. This week our TC57s dropped to 30% by 0200 and barcode reads on wet labels were hit-or-miss; anyone running TC73, Honeywell CT60, or a better scanner engine seeing reliable performance and battery life?

Swapped our TC57s for CT60 XP FlexRange and that fixed the “30% by 0200” plus gave cleaner N4 sync; extended battery makes it to 0600+ in salt spray. For wet labels, enable Picklist and a narrow centering window in Honeywell’s settings to cut glare misreads; TC73 + SE55 is close but still needed a mid-shift swap for us. If you’re also seeing corrosion on cradle pins, a dab of dielectric grease on the pogo contacts keeps them happy.

On our TC73 night shift, the 0200 drop-off disappeared after turning Wi‑Fi Power Save off in Zebra Fusion (WLAN > Advanced > Power Save = Off), and it kept the “sync cleanly with N4” sessions steady while roaming between blocks. Are your reefer rows still on 2.4 only?
