Balancing Efficiency and Cost in Fleet Management

I’ve been focusing on optimizing our fleet operations, particularly in reducing fuel costs while maximizing delivery efficiency. Recently, we implemented a new routing software that has significantly decreased miles driven by about 15%. I’m curious if others have had success with similar strategies or if there are new tools out there that can help us keep improving.

I totally get where you’re coming from. We saw a similar improvement after integrating telematics for real-time data on driver behavior. It really helped us identify areas for fuel savings that we hadn’t even considered before.

It’s great to hear about your routing software success. I found that incorporating driver training on fuel-efficient practices helped us capitalize on tech changes — sometimes improving driving habits makes a bigger impact than we think. Have you considered that angle too, @ctaylor94?

Have you considered using predictive analytics to anticipate maintenance needs? We started doing that and it not only helped with efficiency but also reduced unexpected downtime. It’s kind of like tuning up a car before a long road trip — you’ll save yourself a lot of headaches down the line.
